Sehr umfangreiche Sammlung von Japankarten, die das wechselnde Bild des fernöstlichen Landes vor allem in der europäischen Kartographie detailliert widerspiegelt.

Darunter: Iaponia. Kupferstich von J. Hondius aus G. Mercator, Amsterdam um 1606-1636. 34,5 : 45 cm. Ohne Rückentext. Walter 22 und OAG 12. - Van der Krogt 8450:1A.1. - Iaponiae nova descriptio. Kolorierter Kupferstich von J. Janssonius aus G. Mercator, Amsterdam um 1640-50. 34,5 : 44,5 cm. Mit französischem Rückentext. - Walter 23 und OAG 18. - Van der Krogt 8450:1A.2. - Iaponia regnum. Kolorierter Kupferstich nach M. Martini von J. Blaeu aus Atlas Sinenis , Amsterdam 1655. 42 : 57 cm. - Namensgeber des Martini-Blaeu-Typus, basierend hauptsächlich auf kartographischen Details, die der österreichische Jesuit und Kartograph Martino Martini (1614-1661) u. a. während seines vieljährigen Aufenthalts in China zusammengetragen hat. "He never traveled to Japan himself, but one could assume that he had come into direct or indirect contact in China with material with Japanese maps that he would have used in his map of Japan .. this map represents in essence a combination of the Blancus/Moreira type and the Dudley/Janssonius type."
