EINBAND: Zeitgenössischer Schweinslederband über Holzdeckeln mit Blind- und Rollenprägung sowie altem Papier-Rückenschild. Folio. 29 : 19 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 4 Holzschnitt-Druckermarken und zahlreichen teils figürlichen Holzschnitt-Initialen. - KOLLATION: 10 Bll. (st. 12), 394 (recte 410) S., 1 Bl.; 237 (recte 307) S. - ZUSTAND: Ohne 2 Bll. Index. Stellenw. geringf. fleckig und mit zahlr. Marginalien u. Unterstreichungen versch. Hände, Titel mit hinterlegtem Randausschnitt, vord. flieg. Vorsatz entfernt. Einband berieben und bestoßen, 1 Schließe entfernt, unteres Kapital mit Fehlstelle. - PROVENIENZ: Aus dem Besitz des Freiherrn Maximilian von Fabrice (1845-1914), kurfürstlicher Kammerherr des letzten Kurfürsten von Hessen-Kassel, mit dessen hs. Namenseintrag, datiert 1874, und Stempel auf dem Titel sowie seinem Wappen-Exlibris mit dem Thurgauer Schloß Gottlieben (Holzschnitt seines Schwiegersohns Walter Wilfried Sturtzkopf, 1871-1898). Zuvor Besitzvermerk der Bibliothek Toll (Konstanz). Namensschild Waldemar Schwalbe.

Nice scholion printing from an aristocratic collection. Revised second edition, in Greek. With 4 woodcut title vignettes and numerous partly figural woodcut initials. Contemp. pigskin over wooden boards with blind- and rollstamped decoration and old paper label on spine. - Lacking 2 leaves index. Here and there only slightly stained and with numerous marginalia and underlinings by various hands, title remargined in places, front flying endpaper removed. Binding rubbed and bumped. 1 clasp removed, tail of spine with small missing part. - From the library of Baron Maximilian von Fabrice (1845-1914), chamberlain of the last elector of Hessen-Kassel, with his ms. ownership entry (dated 1874) and stamp on title, as well as his armorial bookplate. Also with earlier ownership entry of the private library Toll (Constance), and with label of Waldemar Schwalbe.
