Veduta di Campo Vaccino. Radierung, Rom 1772. 48 : 70,5 cm (Blattgröße 52 : 73 cm).
Prachtvolle Ansicht des Campo Vaccino genannten Teils vom Forum Romanum.
Erster Zustand vor allen Nummern. Zeigt den Blick auf den Tempel der Faustina im Vordergrund links und den Dioskurentempel rechts. Im Hintergrund sieht man die Ruinen des Kolosseums. - Aus Piranesis großem Werk Vedute di Roma , das er ab ca. 1748 herausgab. Schwarzer Druck auf kräftigem Papier.
- ZUSTAND: Ein kleiner Einriß im ob. weißen Rand hinterlegt, Ränder verso umlaufend mit Resten einer früheren Rahmung (nicht störend).
LITERATUR: Hind 100 I (von 4).
Magnificent view of the Forum Romanum or Campo Veccino, the temple of Faustina and the temple of Castor and Pollux in the foreground and the colosseum in the far background. First state (of 4) before all numbers. Deep dark imprint on strong paper. - 1 small rebacked tear to upper margin, paper margins with remains of a former frame on verso (not shining through). Overall well-preserved.
