• Im Entstehungsjahr wird Feininger von Walter Gropius ans Bauhaus in Weimar berufen
• Schöner, prägnanter Druck auf chamoisfarbenem Papier
Exemplar des ersten Zustandes, noch vor der vertikalen Linie in der Bildmitte. Unten links in Blei signiert.
- ZUSTAND: Unter Passepartout, in den oberen Ecken leicht durchschlagende Montierungsspuren; ansonsten sauberes Exemplar. - PROVENIENZ: Niederländische Privatsammlung.

An early, rare woodcut by the later Bauhaus master, impressive for its clear lines, expressive simplification, and density. In the same year, Feininger was appointed to the Bauhaus in Weimar by Walter Gropius. Beautiful print on chamois-colored paper. - Copy of the first state, before the vertical line in the center of the image. Signed in pencil lower left. Under passepartout, with slight traces of mounting in the upper corners (shining through), otherwise a clean copy.
