"Wenn der Sinn für eine großartige Poesie in Deutschland nicht gestorben ist, so muß diese Sammlung Aufsehen machen; es dürfte darum auch räthlich seyn, mit der Verlagshandlung nur auf eine Auflage von bestimmter Anzahl Exemplare abzuschließen" (Uhland an den Verleger Cotta am 13. V. 1825; zitiert nach Geschichte der Hölderin-Drucke , Tübingen 1961).

RVergoldung, Deckel mit blindgeprägtem Wappensupralibros. 18 : 11,5 cm. - KOLLATION: 2 Bll., 226 S., 1 Bl. - ZUSTAND: Tlw. unaufgeschnitten, schwach gebräunt, Vorsätze erneuert. Kanten und Rücken etw. berieben, unteres Vordergelenk leicht eingerissen, hint. flieg. Vorsatz mit mont. masch. Notiz zum Erwerb des Buches. Guterhaltenes Exemplar. - PROVENIENZ: Seit ca. 90 Jahren in norddeutschem Privatbesitz.

Contemp. calf with some gilt decoration and label on spine, boards with blindstamped armorial supralibros from the library of the Grand Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (1815 – 1918). - Partially unopened, slightly browned, endpapers renewed. Edges and spine slightly rubbed, lower front joint slightly torn, back flyleaf with typewritten note. Well preserved copy.
