Das zweite von Johann Schöffer gedruckte Missale. Durchgehend in Rot und Schwarz gedruckt, mit zahlreichen Notenbeispielen. In einem sogenannten Erfurter Einband, der sich durch robuste handwerkliche Qualität und Buckelbeschläge auszeichnet.
EINBAND: Zeitgenössischer Schweinslederband über Holzdeckeln mit reicher Blindprägung: Rahmenaufbau aus Streicheisenlinien, Felder gefüllt mit Einzelstempeln; ferner mit 10 Messingbuckeln und 8 Messing-Kantenbeschlägen sowie 2 Messing-Schließen. Folio. 38,5 : 35,5 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 10 Textholzschnitten. - KOLLATION: 16 (st. 18) nn., 84 num., 22 (st. 24) nn. Bll., Bl. 85-260 (st. 262). - ZUSTAND: Fehlt der Titel, das weiße Bl. 18, das erste und zweite Kanonblatt, das letzte Textbl. und das letzte w. Bl. - Stellenw. (finger-)fleckig und mit hinterl. Läsuren, Vorsätze erneuert. Rücken an Kap. und Bünden tls. mit kl. Schadstellen, Schließen unvollständig.

Contemp. pigskin over strong wooden boards with single stamps, many brass fittings and remnants of brass clasps. - Lacking title, blank leaf 18, first and second canon leaf, last text leaf and last blank. Partly fingerstained and with backed marginal defects. Few defective spots to spine.
