Der Vorspann sowie 1 Bl. am Schluß (S. 669/670: Veteris geographiae ) aus der lateinischen Ausgabe von 1620, sonst der Text in Französisch aus der Ausgabe 1608. - Enthält 1 Weltkarte in zwei Hemisphären, 1 Polkarte, 4 Erdteilkarten, 107 Europakarten, 4 Afrika- und 11 Asienkarten sowie 5 Amerikakarten. Mit einem handschriftlichem Tafelverzeichnis (5 S.) am Ende, von späterer Hand.
EINBAND: Halblederband d. Zt. mit Rückenschild. 17 : 21 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit gestochener Titelbordüre, 1 allegorischen Kupfer und 133 (von 146) ganzseitigen gestochenen Karten (davon 1 koloriert). - KOLLATION: 5 Bll. (inkl. Titel), S. 3-648 (st. 655) S. - ZUSTAND: Es fehlen insgesamt 17 Blätter (S. 1/2, 247/248, 281/282, 363/364, 391/392, 393/394, 399/400, 427/428, 527/528 und 641-655) und die Karten (lt. Koemann) 52, 73, 80, 82, 89, 111 und 140-146. - Tls. etw. wasserrandig, erste und letzte Bll. mit hinterl. Randläsuren (betrifft auch Welt-, Afrika-, America Meridionalis- und Magellankarte) mit geringfüg. Text- und Bildverlust, Karte von Liège und Ungarn jew. mit restaurierten bzw. ergänzten Läsuren, 1 Textbl. mit kl. Eckabriß (mit geringfüg. Textverlust), Titel mit halbseitigem Stempel eines Jesuitenklosters (unleserlich). Rücken unter Verwendung alten Materials erneuert.

First French edition by Hondius and Janssonius, introduction and 1 last leaf from the Latin 1621 edition. With engr. title border, 1 allegorical engr. plate and 133 (of 146) fullpage engr. maps. Contemp. calf, spine renewed using old material. - A total of 17 leaves and 12 maps are missing. - Partly slightly waterstained, first and last leaves with marginal defects (also affecting world, Africa, America Meridionalis and Magellan maps) with minor loss of text and images, map of Lige and Hungary each with restored or supplemented defect, 1 text leaf with small corner torn (with minor text loss), title with half-page stamp of a Jesuit monastery (illegible). Spine renewed using old material.
