Signed, dated, titled, and inscribed “Aquatec” on the reverse of the canvas. 61 x 50 cm (24 x 19.6 in).

• Horst Antes is considered a pioneer of new figurative painting in Germany after 1945.
• Following Antes' development of the “Kopffüßler” (“Head Footer”) in the early 1960s, the central motif in the artist's work underwent constant change.
• The artist creates an almost dreamlike, mystical effect with clear lines, reduced colors, and mask-like faces.
• Works from these formative years, 1972/73, can be found in important museum collections, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma in Helsinki, and the Sprengel Museum in Hanover.

another 0.25 % of the hammer price over 500,000 euros.
The maximum total of the resale right fee is EUR 12,500.
The artist‘s resale right compensation is VAT-exempt.
