• Georg Karl Pfahler is one of the first representatives of Hard Edge Painting in Europe.
• The complementary color contrast adds particular intensity to this concentrated composition.
• One of the characteristic paintings on a curved stretcher, the artist's trademark.
• Form, color and space remain decisive parameters in Pfahler's art throughout his life.
• In 1970, Pfahler exhibited together with Heinz Mack, Günther Uecker and Thomas Lenk in the Pavilion of the Federal Republic of Germany at the Biennale di Venezia.

Good overall impression. Subtly rubbed spots in places and isolated traces of soiling, some minimal scratches, a more prominent one in the center of the image, there also two pressure marks from the reverse. With isolated spots of minimal craquelure. In lower and right margins and edges with some pressure marks, mostly from recto, occasionally from verso. Individual small paint losses to the edges of the image. Edges consistently bordered with adhesive tape.
