Signed and dated in the lower right corner. Signed, dated, titled, and inscribed with the work details on the reverse of the canvas, with the inscription “Dresden-N54 Pillnitzer Landstr. 59.” There is a label on the stretcher, inscribed by hand with “Für die Jahresausstellung der DAK Berlin” . 102 x 126 cm (40.1 x 49.6 in). [AW].
Full proceeds will go to the Pohlen-Bautz-Holzherr-Foundation.
• Atmospheric depiction in delicate colors and impressive brushwork.
• Subtle imagery and a masterful use of color are characteristic of Hans Jüchser's work.
• He was a member of the Dresden Artists' Association and the Dresden Secession 1932, among others.
PROVENANCE: Collection of Prof. Dr. Manfred Pohlen and Dr. Margarethe Bautz-Holzherr, Marburg.
In good condition. The outer edges of the painting are rubbed in places and there are isolated areas of minor color loss. Increased small areas of paint loss in the lower part of the image. Slight craquelure in places. Partial retouching and overpainting, increased in the outer edges of the image. The condition report was prepared in daylight and with the aid of a UV light source to the best of our knowledge and belief.
