Our untitled work from 1963, the peak of "ZERO", is another document of Otto Piene's mastery in a subtle coloring. A cosmic something is created from oil, smoke and fire, entirely characterized by the harmony of beige, black and red. The balanced colors contrast the brute red in the center of the cloudily billowing "stardust": a powerful, yet remote explosion, making the elemntal forces perceptible for the sky's observer through motionlessness.
