• K. R. H. Sonderborg uses the "non-colors" black and white almost exclusively in his painterly and graphic oeuvre.
• His works are among the most striking examples of German Informalism.
• The characteristic style of his gestural-abstract work is based on influences from Asian calligraphy, American Abstract Expressionism and the artistic method of automatism.
• In 1959 and 1964 Sonderborg took part in Documenta II and III, in 1964 and in the Venice Biennial in 1970.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Baden-Württemberg (since 2005).
