Annähernd vollständiges Exemplar mit allen erschienenen Einzelheften. Enthält von Kleist u. a. Auszüge aus: Penthesilea, Der zerbrochene Krug, Robert Guiskard, Käthchen von Heilbronn ; ferner: Der Engel am Grabe des Herrn, Fabeln, Die Marquise von O.. etc. - Das fliegende Vorsatzblatt mit dem montierten Orig.-Vorderumschlag von Heft 1, der den titelgebenden Phöbus zeigt, wie er auf einem Wagen über Dresden hinwegzieht. Das hint. flieg. Vorsatzbl. mit montiertem Verlagsprospekt zum Erscheinen von Heft 6 (beschnitten).
EINBAND: Marmorierter Pappband d. Zt. 24 : 19,5 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 7 Kupfertafeln von Gottschick nach Carstens, Hartmann, Kügelgen u. a. - ZUSTAND: Fehlen die S. 3-6 im siebten Heft (Anfang von Adam Müllers Aufsatz Vom Charakter der spanischen Poesie ). - Vereinz. gering stockfleckig, die beiden Kupfer zu den Heften 4 und 5 etw. deutlicher und mit kl. Wasserrand. Einbd berieben und bestoßen, Gelenke beschabt, Rücken mit vertikaler Knickspur.

Probably the most important literary journal of the German Romantic Period. Nearly complete copy, scarce. With numerous first prints by Kleist, Novalis, Fouqué, Wezel and others. With 7 copperplates. Contemp. marbled cardboards, flying endpaper with mounted front wrapper of issue 1, showing Phöbus drawing its courses over Dresden. - Lacking pp. 3-6 in issue 7. - Here and there minor foxing (2 coppers stronger and with small waterstain), binding rubbed and bumped, spine with vertical crease mark.
