Catherine Greenaway

Kate Greenaway (also Catherine Greenaway) was born on March 17, 1846, in London, the daughter of the drawer and woodcutter John Greenaway. She was a watercolor painter and illustrator of children's books. Greenaway studied at the Slade School of Art. The new techniques of photolithography were used for her book "Under the Window" in 1878, in order to print her watercolors. Kate Greenaway died on November 6, 1901, in London.
