The Franciscan Stephan Fridolin (1430-1498) was first verified as a preacher of the convent in Bamberg in 1475. On account of convent matters Fridolin traveled to Rome where he was abducted to Corse by buccaneers. In 1480 Fridolin was back in Nuremberg where, apart from a two-year stay in Basel (1487-89), he worked as a preacher for the Clarissen Order until his death in 1498.
