Good overall impression. Isolated tiny brown stains. Upper left corner with small loss. Each a slight squeeze mark on the right and lower margin.

Signed lower right. With an undesignated authenticity stamp on the reverse. On paper (with perforated edge). 29 : 42 cm (11,4 : 16,5 in), the full sheet. After the second world war, Friedrich Ludwig settled in Berchtesgaden, where he produced his masterly views of the Alps which are notable for his superb handling of colour. The present work is memorable for the beautifully shaded blues, in places heightened with white, capturing the dappled play of light on the mountain slopes. [HL]
