The sheet belongs to a series of drawings made in preparation of the two oil paintings "Oberon I" and "Oberon II" from 1947 (catalog raisonné oil no. 384 and 385). With a sketch in pencil on verso. [JS].
The sheet will be included into the forthcoming oeuvre catalog of watercolors, gouaches and drawings by Nay, which is currently being prepared by Elisabeth Nay-Scheibler and Dr. Magdalene Claesges, Cologne.
