The series of heliographs "Kanarische Landschaften I" and "Kanarische Landschaften II" wee made after photographs the artist made on the Canary Islands in 1969. Each motif is framed by two bordering lines. Richter deliberately made his landscape views in the tradition of reproduction engravings and city views of the 18th and 19th century. [EH].
