Imposante, großformatige Zeichnung, die in die Phase von Lüpertz' "dithyrambischer Malerei" fällt und ein Spannungsfeld zwischen klassizistischer und abstrakter Kunst erzeugt.
Die auf nur einen Gegenstand reduzierte Komposition zeigt eine monumental überhöhte plastische Figur vor einer dunklen Grotte, neben einer hellen und abstrakt freibleibenden Fläche. Dabei fängt Lüpertz das Statuenhafte mit dynamischem Strich ein und vereint Figürliches mit Abstraktem, klassizistische mit modernen Elementen, Pathos und Einfachheit, Leichtigkeit und Schwere.
- ZUSTAND: Ränder tlw. mit kl. Läsuren und Knickspuren. Punktuell auf Karton montiert. - PROVENIENZ: Privatsammlung Hessen (wohl um 1985 bei Dr. Ewald Rathke Kunsthandel, Frankfurt a. Main, erworben).
Orig. color oil pastel drawing. Signed in red at the lower right. On brownish drawing paper. Imposing, large drawing from the period of Lüpertz's "dithyrambic painting", which creates a field of tension between classicist and abstract art. - Margins here and there with minor wear and creases. Mounted on cardboard. - Private collection Hesse.

another 0.25 % of the hammer price over 500,000 euros.
The maximum total of the resale right fee is EUR 12,500.
The artist‘s resale right compensation is VAT-exempt.
