Erste Ausgabe. - Eines von 230 numerierten Exemplaren auf "papier la main des Papeteries d'Arches, fabriqué spécialement pour cette édition". Im Druckvermerk von den beiden Autoren signiert. Die Aufnahmen in dem Werk entstanden auf mehreren Reisen nach Griechenland zwischen 1903 und 1908.
EINBAND: Orig.-Pergamentband (sign. Hans Asper, Genf) mit Rücken- und Deckeltitel, Deckelvignette und Bordüren, sämtlich in Gold und Orange-Rot, Kopfgoldschnitt sowie Buntpapier-Vorsätzen. 51,5 : 41 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit Holzstich-Titelvignette und 174 (davon 40 ganzseitigen) Heliogravüren von F. Boissonnas und D. Baud-Bovy. - KOLLATION: 2 Bll., 167 S. - ZUSTAND: Teils im Rand stärker stockfleckig (besonders zu Beginn und am Ende).
LITERATUR: Nicht bei Blackmer (wenn auch Exemplare in der Auktion von Blackmers Büchern enthalten waren: Auktion Sotheby's 11.-13.10.1989, Lose 1143 und 1144).
A luxuriously designed and richly illustrated travelogue through Greece. First edition. 1 of 230 numb. copies on "papier la main des Papeteries d'Arches, fabrique specialement pour cette edition". Signed by both authors in the imprint. With a woodcut title vignette and 174 (40 of which are full-page) photogravures. Orig. vellum (signed by Hans Asper, Geneva) with spine and cover titles, cover vignette and borders, all in gold and orange-red, gilt edges, and colored paper endpapers. 51.5 : 41 cm. - Some of the margins are heavily foxed (especially at the beginning and end).
