Erste Ausgabe. - Mit Ansichten, Grund- und Aufrissen und architektonischen Details des antiken Gebäudes. "This was the first substantial work to be published under Francesco's name afther the death of his father 1778, and was intended as an informal continuation of the elder Piranesi's Le antichita Romane .. Very few of the Pantheon plates seem to have been circulated" (Brit. Arch. Libr. 2546). - Vorhanden Tafeln II, IV-VI, X, XI, XIV-XXVIII. Kräftige Abdrucke auf unbeschnittenem breitrandigen Bütten.
EINBAND: Pappband der Zeit (Rücken entfernt). 58 : 46 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Folge von 21 Kupfertafeln (von 29; 15 doppelblattgr.). - ZUSTAND: Fehlt u. a. das gestochene Titelblatt. Stellenw. mit kl. Wasserrand. Einband beschädigt. - PROVENIENZ: Slg. Nikolai Alex. Koucheleff-Bezborodko (1834-1862) mit dessen Exlibris, Wappenstempel und Monogrammstempel. - Seit über 100 Jahren in bayerischem Familienbesitz.
