Erste französische Ausgabe und Bearbeitung der 1638 erstmals in Barcelona erschienenen Chronica moralizada del Orden de San Augustin el Peru . Der aus Bolivien stammende Augustinermönch in Lima Antonio de la Calancha (1584-1654) gibt darin einen Überblick über die Geschichte seines Ordens in Peru ab 1551, und befaßt sich mit der Landesgeschichte der beschriebenen Gegenden und Herkunft und Bräuchen der einheimischen Bevölkerung. Am Ende mit drei Märtyrerberichten mit separater Paginierung.
EINBAND: Pergamentband der Zeit. 22,5 : 18 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit illustriertem Kupfertitel. - KOLLATION: 5 Bll., 481 (recte 479) S., 4 Bll.; 26 S. - ZUSTAND: Ohne die beiden Kupfertafeln, die wohl nicht allen Exemplaren beigefügt wurden. Tlw. leicht gebräunt, zu Beginn (wasser-)fleckig, Kupfertitel unten mit 2 kleinen hinterl. Wurmspuren. Rückendeckel im unt. Rand fleckig.

First French translation and revised edition. The history of the Augustinian order in Peru by friar Antonio de la Calancha (1584-1654) in Lima was first published in Barcelona in 1638. The important account also deals with topography and ethnology of the areas described. With illustr. engr. title page. Without 2 engr. plates which were probably not included in all copies. Contemp. vellum. - Partly slightly tanned, ca. first 20 leaves (water-)stained, engl. title with 2 small rebacked wormtraces in bottom margin.
