Erste Ausgabe der Partitur.
Mozart komponierte die zweiaktige "Oper seria", in deren Mittelpunkt ein gütiger Herrscher steht, anläßlich der Krönung Kaiser Leopolds II. zum König von Böhmen am 6. Sept. 1791 in Prag. Das Stück stieß bei seiner Uraufführung beim Publikum noch auf verhaltetenes Echo, bald jedoch nahm die Populärität der Oper zu, so daß sie schließlich bis ins 19. Jahrhundert neben der Zauberflöte und Don Giovanni zu Mozarts meistgespielten Werken für das Musiktheater gehörte.
EINBAND: Etw. späterer Halblederband mit montiertem Lederdeckelschild. 35 : 27 cm. - KOLLATION: S. 2-107 gest. Seiten (Plattennr. 620). - ZUSTAND: Fehlen das gestochene Titelblatt, 1 Bl. Verzeichnis der Gesänge und 4 Bll. (=Sp. 1-16) mit dem Libretto. Etwas fleckig und gebräunt. Einbd. beschabt, Ecken bestoßen. - PROVENIENZ: Mit hs. Besitzvermerk und Exlibris der Familie von der Osten-Sacken (19. Jh.). - Privatsammlung Berlin.

First edition of the orchestral score. The opera was composed on the occasion of the coronation of emperor Leopold II. as King of Bohemia on Sept 6, 1791 in Prague. Pp. 2-107 (engraved throughout, plate no. 620). Slightly later half calf with label on front board. - Lacking the engr. title, 1 leaf with index and 4 ll. (= columns 1-16) with the libretto. Somewhat stained and tanned. Binding rubbed, corners bumped. - With bookplate and ms. ownership entry of the Family Von der Osten-Sacken (19th cent.). - Berlin private collection.
