Eindrucksvolle Folge mit Kampf- und Schlachtenszenen des Augsburger Malers Georg Philipp Rugendas (1666-1742).
Der Augsburger Maler und Graphiker Georg Philipp Rugendas war u. a. Lehrer von J. E. Ridinger. "Den Hauptteil von R.s Schaffen machen Schlachten-, Reiter- und Lagerdarstellungen aus" (Thieme/B.). - Die vorliegende Folge zeigt hauptsächlich dramatische Hunde- und Pferdekämpfe sowie Szenen aus dem Soldatenleben. - Im unteren Rand jeweils Verse in lateinischer und deutscher Sprache.
EINBAND: Etw. spät. Halbleinenband. Vorderdeckel mit goldgeprägt. Wappen des Großherzogs von Oldenburg. 51,5 : 71,5 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 11 Orig.-Schabkunstblättern von G. Ph. Rugendas im Format ca. 41,5 : 52 cm sämtl. auf kräftigem Papier montiert. - ZUSTAND: Einband stärker beschabt und bestoßen. - PROVENIENZ: Exlibris Waldemar Schwalbe.
