Londinum ferracissimi Angliae regni metropolis. Kolorierter Kupferstich aus Braun-Hogenberg, Köln 1572. Plattengröße 34 : 48,5 cm.
Schöner altkolorierter Plan von London aus dem bekannten Städteatlas von Georg Braun und Frans Hogenberg, im frühesten Druckzustand.
Gleichzeitig eine der ersten naturgetreuen Ansichten der Stadt. Im oberen Bildrand der Titel in Beschlagwerkkartusche rechts und links zwei Wappendarstellungen, im unteren Bildrand im Vordergrund des Plans eine Figurengruppe in zeitgenössischer Tracht, eingerahmt von zwei Kartuschen mit erläuterndem Text zur Bedeutung und Beschreibung von London. - Nach Van der Krogt im ersten Zustand mit der Schreibung von Westminster als "West Mester" und noch ohne Abbildung der "Royal Exchange" sowie ohne das Druckprivileg.
- ZUSTAND: Vereinz. fleckig. Unter Passepartout gerahmt, nicht geöffnet. - PROVENIENZ: Norddeutsche Privatsammlung.

In contemporary coloring and in the first state (of 4) from 1572. with Westminster as "West Mester", still without the Royal Exchange as well as without the printing privilege. - Here and there stained. Matted and framed, not examined outside the frame. - Northern German private collection.
