Schöner Beileidsbrief an die Witwe des Eisenacher Kammerpräsidenten Carl Christian von Herda.
"Das freundschaftliche Verhältniß, das zwischen dem seligen H. Gemahl und mir, seit mehreren Jahren bestanden, macht mir dessen Verlust äußerst schmerzlich; so wie ihn die Geschäfte, als einen einsichtsvollen und thätigen Mann vermissen werden. Nur die allgemeine Betrachtung: dass unsere älteren Freunde vor uns hingehen, tröstet uns, indem sie uns auf die Lebenden zurückweist und uns den Wunsch abdringt: dass den Überbliebnen noch manche gesunde und heitre Tage gegönnt seyn möchten. Ich hoffe dieses an Ew. Gnaden und an den Ihrigen erfüllt zu sehen, der ich mich zu günstigem und freundschaftlichem Andenken bestens empfehle."
