Parnassus medicinalis illustratus. Oder: Ein neues, und dergestalt, vormahln noch nie gesehenes Thier- Kräuter- und Berg-Buch, sampt der Salernischen Schul. 4 Tle. in 1 Bd. Ulm, J. Görlin 1662-1663.
Frühwerk des bekannten Alchemisten Becher, zugleich einzige Ausgabe der Kompilation nach Art der großen Kräuterbücher. Etwa 380 der botanischen Holzschnitte mit Altkolorit.
Die vier Teile bestehen aus dem Thier-Buch , Kräuterbuch (unter Verwendung der über 1000 Holzstöcke zu Mattiolis Kräuterbuch von 1586, die hier tlw. altkoloriert sind), Mineralogia und der Schola Salernitana in der von Villanova kommentierten Fassung. Ein Anhang behandelt das Destillieren und den Aderlaß.
EINBAND: Blindgeprägter Schweinslederband der Zeit. Folio. 33,5 : 20 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 3 Kupfertafeln und ca. 1200 Textholzschnitten (ca. 380 kolor). - KOLLATION: 5 Bll., 104 S.; 620 (st. 632) S.; 88 S.; 164 S., 14 Bll. - ZUSTAND: Fehlt der Kupfertitel, ferner 6 Textbll. in Tl. II. Etwas gebräunt, erste Lagen gelöst, letzte Bll. mit Knicken und kl. Randläsuren. Einbd. mit Gebrauchsspuren, Vorderdeckel gelöst.

Only edition of this compilation in the style of the great herbal books. With 3 copperplates and ca. 1200 woodcuts in text (mainly after Mattioli, ca. 380 with contemp. colors). 4 pts. in 1 volume. Blind- and rollstamped pigskin over wooden board (damaged, front board detached). - Lacking the engr. title, also 6 text leaves in pt. II. Tanned, the first quires partly detached, the last leaves (index) with creases and marginal defects.
