• Symbolically encrypted and at the same time highly imaginative depiction of an apocalyptic mythical creature.
• One of the last works of this kind to define his work since the Nazis came to power in 1933.
• In December of the year this work was created, Josef Scharl emigrated to the USA, where, after initial difficulties, he achieved considerable success.
• Exhibited several times in the USA during the artist's lifetime.
