• Homage to technology, the big city, and architecture: Léger's visual language of the period represents the experience of modern man at the beginning of the 20th century.
• A comparable drawing from this creative period is in the collection of the Städel Museum, Frankfurt am Main; other drawings by the artist are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Centre Pompidou, Paris, and Tate Gallery, London.
