Rarissimum der Barockliteratur!
Äußerst seltene moraltheologische und didaktische Schrift des frühbarocken Dichters und Arztes Jacob Vogel (1584-630). Vogel, ein gebürtiger Kornwestheimer, der später in Leipzig wirkte und dort 1622 zum Poeta Laureatus gekrönt wurde, trat vor allem durch historische Epen und theologische Gelegenheitsdichtung in Erscheinung (vgl. ADB und Goedeke).
EINBAND: Späterer Pappband. 16,5 : 10 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 3 Titel-Holzschnittbordüren und zahlreichen Textholzschnitten. - KOLLATION: 1 (st. 9) Bl., 124 S., 1 w. Bl.; 1 Bl., S. 125-266; 1 Bl. S. 267-381 (recte 383). - ZUSTAND: Ohne den Haupttitel und die Dedicatio (8 Bll.). - Etw. gebräunt, Erscheinungsjahr "1617" auf dem ersten Zwischentitel handschriftlich geändert zu "1619" (vgl. die Anm. im VD 17). VGelenk eingerissen.

Some browning, the year of publication ‘1617’ on the first half-title page has been corrected to ‘1619’ by old hand.
