Our work is a very typical example of Turi Simeti’s style: An almost squared canvas is turned into a relief through an oval shape. The perfection of two pure geometric forms, ellipse and square, coupled with the non color white. A pictorial language with an even higher degree of clarity and precision appears to be imposible, however, Simeti, creates a highly lively and suggestive image from these objective elements: The oval’s position suggests a human navel. This way Simeti adds a mythical exaggeration to the "shaped canvas" that is characteristic of the "ZERO" surroundings. [EL]
