Charcoal drawing.
Lower right signed, dated and dedicated "To / Edward James / with my best wishes / for a merry x-mas 1940 / from / George". On creme laid paper. 64.2 x 48.3 cm (25.2 x 19 in), size of sheet.

Owed to the detailled and close perspective, as well as the interesting provencance, this surreal composition is a particularly remarkable work.
With a photo confirmation issued by Mr Ralph Jentsch on 7 November, 2016. The work will be included into the forthcoming catalog raisonné of works on paper.

Collection Edward James (as Christmas present from the artist in 1940).
