"Nach Modellen der Staatlichen Bauhochschule Weimar hergestellt von der Fa. Walther & Wagner, Metallwarenfabrik, Schleiz, Vertrieb durch die Staatliche Bauhochschule Weimar. Anfragen über Entwurf und Ausführung von Sonderaufträgen an die Staatliche Bauhochschule Weimar" (hinterer Umschlag).
Die Metallwerkstatt am Bauhaus war eine Nachfolgerin des Bauhauses und nahm 1920 ihre Tätigkeit auf. Zunächst wurde sie von Johannes Itten und ab 1923 von László Moholy-Nagy geleitet. Richard Winkelmayer (1890-1950) war ab 1926 künstlerischer Leiter der Metallwerkstatt. Mit seinem Assistenten Wilhelm Wagenfeld (1900-1990) entwarf er dort u. a. Leuchten. Die Zusammenarbeit der Metallwerkstatt in Weimar mit Walther & Wagner in Schleiz begann am 1.4.1929. 1930 fiel die Staatliche Bauhochschule Weimar dem Thüringer Nationalsozialismus zum Opfer.
Der Verkaufskatalog zeigt Tisch-, Decken-, Pendel- und Wandleuchten von Wilhelm Wagenfeld (M 2, M 4, M 13 S und M 13 R, M 22, M 24, M 26, M 27, M 29) und Richard Winkelmayer (M 1, M 3, M 5, M 6, M 7, M 11) sowie 6 Schalen (M 8-10 und 12) und 1 Teebüchse (M 15) von Wagenfeld.
