Signed, dated and inscribed "Muster 1. Probedruck" and titled in the lower edge, presumably by a hand other than that of the artist. 1st trial proof. Only known print from the Ist state. 29.2 x 19 cm (11.4 x 7.4 in). Sheet: 42,5 x 33,1 cm (16,7 x 13 in).
According to Dube, an unnumbered edition from the II. state was printed for I. B. Neumann, Berlin 1920. [JS].

• Rarity. 1st trial proof and the only known print from the first state of printing before the hatching in the hair and in the areas in the background.
• After the end of the First World War, Heckel returned to Berlin in November 1918 and continued his outstanding expressionist work from before the war.
• Heckel's young wife Sidi (married in 1915) is depicted on the basis of his painting "Weibliches Bildnis" from 1913
.
