• In 1905 the artist founded the artist group "Brücke" together with his fellow students Erich Heckel, E. L. Kirchner and Fritz Bleyl. He adopted the name of his birthplace Rottluff (Chemnitz) and henceforth called himself Karl Schmidt-Rottluff.
• The same year that this work was made, Schmidt-Rottluff also captured this scene in the painting "Landschaft in Rottluff" (Galerie Neue Meister, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden).
• In the past 20 years only two copies were offered on the international auction market (source: artprice.com)
