Signed, dated and titled as well as inscribed "Probe". One of 17 known copies. This is the only known copy from the 2nd state. On smooth wove paper. 46.1 x 33.1 cm (18.1 x 13 in). Sheet: 63 x 48,1 cm (24,8 x 18,9 in).

• People by the sea in various constellations are among the artist's central themes.
• Although the motif can be assigned to the summer sojourn in Osterholz, influences from bathing scenes in Ostende can still be recognized here.

In good condition. Small handling marks in the white margins. Small pinholes and superficial paper losses to the upper edge of the sheet. A horizontal crease in the upper half of the sheet.
