• Skillfully balanced composition with exciting accentuation.
• Great technical finesse: Using brush and palette knife, Winter creates a special suggestive power.
• Winter began his artistic career at the Bauhaus in Dessau with, among others, Josef Albers and Wassily Kandinsky as professors, and shortly afterwards became friends with Ernst Ludwig Kirchner.
• The artist participated four times in the documenta in Kassel (1955, 1959, 1964, posthumously 2017).
