Jeweils an James Carleton Young in Minneapolis. Beide Briefe wimmeln von Tipp- und Rechtschreibfehlern. "... The englicsh language is so rich, offering the advantages of the german and latin thoughts and expressions and in such simple form that a child can understand it .... I think if I feell isnpired in that way and you do dont think te trial a failure, that I may continue with that sort of poem till they form a small volume! I should be so glad to offer that to the kin and sympathetec american public that has received me so warmly! ..." (29. VI. 1901). - Im zweiten Brief bittet sie Young weitschweifig um Hilfe für einen hochverschuldeten Frankfurter Musikprofessor, da ihr gesamtes Vermögen in ihr "Segenhaus" geflossen sei, einem von ihrer Mutter geerbten Schloß am Rhein, das sie aufwendig renovieren ließ und das bedürftigen Künstlern als Unterkunft dienen sollte. "... I am sure ... you can find money much sooner tha I can especiallly you can get it back and i never, money lent by a sovereign is gone One nver gets it back ... My selling my jewells and those my mother wore and put round my neck wiht her dying hands and those my mgand mother wore and my child all gone. And most of my weddinggifts are sold as well only a few things I kept for presents, wedding and christenign ... I think of writing articles also for Amerca if that would fetch money, for Segenhaus. Every penny I earn goes to Segenhaus ...- I tremble for the kinsg health, he has grown verw thi thin in a few days, and feels so much weaker than formerly ..." - Der erste Brief mit leichten Randläsuren, der zweite mit Klammerspur.
