Humpert, 3828 and Kress 6928 (First edition). - Second edition of the work on mining and cameralism, first published in 1773. - Delius (1728-79) was professor of metallurgy and mineralogy at the Chemnitz mining academy, his work, which had been commissioned by the emperor, "ist das beste, umfassendste und lehrreichste über Bergbau mit Einschluß der Erzaufbereitung, namentlich in den österreichischen Ländern, welches wir aus jener Zeit besitzen... (es) blieb ein zuverlässiger Rathgeber für den praktischen Bergbau bis in die neuere Zeit" [abbr. transl.:"is the best, most comprehensive and interesting on mining... (it) remained a reliable guidebook for mining up until the modern era".] (ADB V, 38). - The nice and strong coppers by J. Gerstner, A. Richter, J. X. Schmuzer et al with illustrations of mining equipment etc. - Lacking in vol. II pp. VI and VII, Erinnerung zu der zweyten Auflage (pp. III and IV) instead bound in twice. - Slightly stained in places (not affecting plates), 3 ll. with small defective spots in the text. Corners scuffed, spine ends chipped. - Ex-libris.
