XXXIV, 71f. and Brunet I, 1886. - Not in BM STC and in Adams. - Rare second Giunta edition of the nice portrait work of French kings, the first edition was published in 1588 with the same number of coppers, the later work from 1597 was increased by 1 copper (Henry IV). Most coppers are reengravings by Fr. Valesio after the portrait work Recueil des eddigies des roys de France (Paris 1567) by F. des Prez. The additionmal non-numb. portrait of Karl Martell is printed on verso of the portrait of Childeberto II (no. 17). - Size of sheet 22 : 31,7 cm. - Size of plate ca. 13-13,8 : 19,8-20,4 cm. - Plates foxed in places and somewhat fingerstained. Edges scraped.
