VD 16, L 2642. - BM STC, German Books p. 527. - Adams G 767. - Rare first edition of Glarean's annotations on Titus Livius, together with a tabular chronology fo Roman history and Valla's emendations. Very nice Basel print with numerous woodcut initials from various alphabets, among them the lansquenet alphabet by Urs Graf and the children's alphabet by Holbein the Younger. - With slight traces of worming in places (last ll. stronger affected, slight loss of printed matter), title with small ownership stamp and 2 lines erased by an old hand, endpapers renewed. Clasps renewed. Else fine and broad-margined copy.
First edition of Glarean's annotations, together with his tabular chronicle of the Roman history and Valla's emendations. Fine printing by Isengrin with 44 fig. woodcut initials by Urs Graf and H. Holbein as well as 2 woodcut printer's devices. Contemp. limp vellum. - Partly slight worming (last leaves stronger, affecting some letters), small faint owner's stamp to title, 2 lines there crossed over by old hand. Endpapers renewed, thongs removed. Else well preserved copy with broad margins.
