Die Holzschnitte sind leicht verkleinerte Nachschnitte des spanischen Originals von 1545. Die schöne blattgroße Karte (vgl. Burden 14) zeigt den Atlantik mit Westeuropa, Westafrika, die Ostküste Nordamerikas, ganz Mittelamerika und den nördlichen Teil Südamerikas. "[The map] may be taken as embodying the results of Spanish discovery in 1540" (Church). Unter den kleineren Holzschnitten eine runde, von Windengeln umgebene Weltkarte (Shirley 84), ferner verschiedene Schiffstypen und zahlreiche Diagramme aus den Bereichen Astronomie und Navigationslehre.

EINBAND: Zeitgenössischer flexibler Pergamentband. 20 : 15,5 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit Holzschnitt-Druckermarke auf dem Titel, 1 blattgroßen Holzschnitt-Karte und ca. 80 Textholzschnitten. - KOLLATION: 8 nn.
