Seltene erste Ausgabe des wichtigen Werkes über chinesische Insekten mit prächtigen handkolorierten Kupferstichen.

Die kräftig und sorgfältig kolorierten Kupfer zeigen Käfer, Fliegen, Zikaden, Schmetterlinge, Krebse etc., im Hintergrund verschiedene Pflanzen.

EINBAND: Halblederband d. Zt. (sign. Sizer) mit etw. Rückenvergoldung. 30 : 23,5 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 47 kolorierten Kupfertafeln (st. 50). - KOLLATION: 49 Bll. (st. 50). - ZUSTAND: Ohne die Taf. 10 (Gryllus nasutus und vittatus), Taf. 33 (Papilio vesta, pasithoe und hyparete), Taf. 48 (Cancer mammillaris) sowie 1 Textbl. - 1 Taf. im unteren w. R. etw. schmutzfl., 1 Textbl. mit kl. Randausriß. Einbd. etw. berieben. Insgesamt schönes sauberes Exemplar.

Rare and important volume on Chinese insects with 47 splendid hand-colored copper-engravings (of 50). Half calf (signed Sizer) with gilt spine. 30 : 23.5 cm. - Excluding plate 10 (Gryllus nasutus and vittatus), plate 33 (Papilio vesta, pasithoe and hyparete) and plate 48 (Cancer mammillaris), lacking 1 text leaf. - 1 plate slightly soiled in the lower white margin, 1 text leaf with small marginal spot torn out. Binding slightly rubbed. Altogether fine copy.
