Jawlensky/Pieroni-Jawlensky 620. On firm wove paper. 13 x 10 cm (5.1 x 3.9 in), the full sheet.
With a fragmentarily preserved letter on the reverse, just partly legible. [AR].
• Fine small watercolor that served the artist as a greeting card.
• As of 1929 Jawlensky increasingly suffered from arthritis and soon painted in severe pain.
• Around this time he repeatedly made small watercolors, among them of flowers in vases.
PROVENANCE: Hanna Bekker vom Rath, Frankfurt/Main.

In good condition. Margins slightly irregular and with two small splits and a tiny brownish spot. With isolated remains of a different type of paper/newsprint, especially in upper left and along the bottom edge.
