Giovanni Giacometti beim Lesen. 1907.
Woodcut in red.
Mandach 25 (there dated 1910). Monogrammed and dedicated "D/verehrten Herrn Feer [sic!]". Monogrammed (laterally reversed printed) in the stone. Trial proof in red aside from the edition for the second annual "Brücke" bonus. 27 x 23.3 cm (10.6 x 9.1 in). Sheet: 28,5 x 25,5 cm (11,2 x 10 in).
[JS].

• Rare trial proof in red. So far, only two other copies have been offered on the international auction market (source: artprice.com).
• Personal testimony of the important artistic friendship between Cuno Amiet and Giovanni Giacometti.
• Outstanding compositional portrait, which – without internal structures – arises solely from the perfect interplay of line and unprinted surface.
• Dedication copy for Dr. Hans Fehr, professor of Legal History in Jena and Halle and a passive member of the "Brücke" since 1906.
• Fehr was acquainted with Nolde and Kirchner and also came into contact with Amiet through the "Brücke" artists in 1907
