• The artist effectively stages the bright and heavy flowers in front of a dark background.
• Flowers are among the main motifs of Christian Rohlf's watercolors and still lifes.
• In terms of their impression, they go far beyond what is usual of the genre.
Accompanied by a certfictae of authenticity issued by the Christian Rohlfs Archive at the Osthaus Museum Hagen, dated March 25, 2013. The work is registered in the archive with the number CRA 74/13.

In good condition consistent of the age. Each corner with a small pinhole. Paper rubbed below the large rose, however, barely impairing the overall impression, with two to three tiny paper blemishes in the image and a very faint scratch in left part. Upper margin with two small unobtrusive splits. Paper wavy and wrinkled owing to the technique.
