• Kirkeby's art is inspired by nature and transports atmospherically condensed landscape impressions.
• In the exhibition "Wildnis" at Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt a. Main (2018), Kirkeby's works were shown along works by Max Ernst, Henri Rousseau, Giorgia O’Keeffe and Gerhard Richter.
• The artist had solo shows at, among others, the Museum Ludwig, Cologne (2002/03), the Tate Modern, London (2009), the Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf (2009/10), and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebæk (2020).
PROVENANCE: Galerie Biedermann, Munich.
Private collection Southern Germany (acquired from the above in 1988).
