Included in the lot: Exhibition catalog "Yves Klein. Monochrome und Feuer", published by the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum, Krefeld, on occasion of the artist's first German exhibition at Museum Haus Lange, Krefeld, from January 14 to February 26, 1961; catalog of the new theater building in Gelsenkirchen, Düsseldorf 1961; exhibition catalog Yves Klein, Le monochrome, Leo Castelli Gallery, April 11 to April 29, 1961; documentary newspaper clippings: Richard Huelsenbeck, Der Tod eines Malers, [presumably] F.A.Z., July 27, 1962, no. 172, p. 28; Zum Tode des Malers Yves Klein, F.A.Z., June 1962. [KT].
• Yves Klein was a master of monochrome art, in 1960 he was co-founder of one of the 20th century's most important tendencies, the "Nouveau Réalisme".
• His patented "International Klein Blue" is an expression of a spiritual and sensual experience.
• The exhibiiton "Monochrome und Feuer" was the first and last retrospective during the artist's lifetime.
• His works are at, among others, the London Tate Modern, the Centre Pompidou, Paris, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
