Bei den Bußsakramenten bricht Thomas ab, dann folgt das Supplementum, eine Ergänzung aus Thomas' früherem 'Sentenzenkommentar' durch seinen Freund und Mitarbeiter Reginald von Privorno. Die vorliegende Ausgabe ist ein Nachdruck der Edition von Johann Manthen, Köln 1478, in der die Supplemente erstmals mitgedruckt wurden. Der dritte Teil erschien ohne die Supplemente erstmals um 1474 bei Michael Wenssler in Basel. - Stagnino, der 1484 nach einer gemeinsamen Edition mit dem Drucker Johann Herbort einen Teil von dessen typographischen Material erbte, hat laut BMC die Type der vorliegenden Ausgabe nur dieses eine Mal verwendet. - Erste und letzte 2 Lagen mit wenigen Wurmlöchern, tlw. minim. wasserrandig. Insgesamt wohl erhaltener und dekorativer Druck, sauberes und breitrandiges Exemplar.
Fifth edition, the third printed in Italy. With 1 large Fleuronné initial in blue and red, 1 9-line initial in red and blue, and numerous smaller initials alternately in red and blue. 230 nn. leaves (first blank). Gothic type. 2 col., 70 lines and headline. Contemp. South German blind-stamped calf over wooden boards, with Kopfstempel tools in lozenge-shaped panels, framed by repeated rectangular leafy tools (covering worn, spine damaged). - The third and last part of Aquinas' great theological synthesis. The work remained unfinished and was added with the 'Supplementum' by his companion and friend Reginald de Privorno. This edition is a reprint of J. Manthen's 1478 edition, the first to contain the 'Supplementum'. According to BMC, the type of the present edition appears in no others. - Few wormholes to first and last 2 quires, partly small waterstains in outer margins. Fine and broadmargined copy.
