Vereinz. gering fleckig (wenige Bll. deutlicher, meist zu Beginn), erste Lage mit kl. Wurmspur im Rand und tls. im Bund alt verstärkt, 8 Bll. mit Randeinriß (7 davon mit Klebspur), erstes Bl. aufgezogen. Rücken erneuert, Deckel etw. berieben und mit alt genähtem Bezugsriß. Schließen tls. ausgebessert.
Early edition of the Legenda aurea. With numerous red Lombard initials. 6 nn., 456 num. leaves. Gothic type. 2 col., 49 lines and head-line. Contemp. calf over wooden boards with vellum pastedowns (the front a manuscript with red and blue initials), richly blindstamped with blossom, fleur-de-lis and griffin tools within lozenge-shaped panels, framed by triple blind rules. - In general well preserved and broadmargined copy. Here and there minor staining (few leaves stronger, mostly at beginning), first quire with small trace of worming to margin and partly strengthened in the gutter; 8 leaves with marginal tear (7 with trace by sticky tape), first leaf mounted. Spine renewed, boards somewhat rubbed and with early sewn tear, brass clasps partly repaired.
